Short Biography
Akihiko Ohsuga
received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Waseda University in 1995. From 1981 to 2007, he worked at Toshiba Corporation. Since 2007, he has been with the University of Electro-Communications, where he served as a professor in the Graduate School of Information Systems and later in the Graduate School of Informatics and Engineering. He is currently the Director of the Center for Industrial and Governmental Relations. He has published over 390 papers, including 170 journal articles and 220 international conference papers. His research interests include agent technologies, web intelligence, and software engineering. He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society (IEEE CS), the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ), the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), the Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI), and the Japan Society for Software Science and Technology (JSSST). He has served as Chair of the IEEE CS Japan Chapter and as a board member of both JSAI and JSSST. He received the IPSJ Best Paper Awards in 1987 and 2017. In 2024, he was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus by the University of Electro-Communications. He was named a Fellow of IPSJ in 2017 and a Fellow of IEICE in 2024.
